During my internship at Marks Wachters notaries, I had an incredibly fun and educational time. From the very first moment I felt welcome and truly part of the team. Everyone was always ready to help me or answer questions, which allowed me to start working with confidence.

Learning in practice

I did my internship in the Law of Persons and Family Law department and was given many different tasks. Among other things, I was busy creating new files, preparing deeds for execution, preparing appointments for (candidate) notaries and processing incoming mail. This variety ensured that I was able to learn a lot and get a good idea of notarial work in practice. As my internship progressed, I became more and more independent in my work.

Watching with notaries

Another thing I really appreciated was that I was regularly allowed to watch notaries' appointments. This gave me good insight into how conversations with clients go and I learned a lot about the legal content. Much of this knowledge I had not had before during my studies, so it was very instructive to be able to experience this in practice.

Involved with the whole team

In addition, every month I was allowed to join the team meeting with colleagues from Eindhoven and Nuenen. This not only gave me more insight into the organization as a whole, but I also got to know colleagues from the other branch.

‘At Marks Wachters we work seriously and with dedication, but there is certainly also room for sociability. On Tuesday and Friday afternoons there is a communal lunch, and fun activities are regularly organized outside of work. All this made me feel at home within the office very quickly.’

Looking back with pleasure

In short: a pleasant working atmosphere, good supervision and the opportunity to really get involved in the practice. I look back on my internship with great pleasure and am happy to now be part of the team as a supporting notary public!
